Site Manager Janne Uski

At the beginning of March 2025, Logent launched its operations in Lahti with Janne Uski as the new Site Manager. Janne, an experienced logistics professional, brings extensive expertise in internal logistics development and change management.

With a degree in Business Administration (Tradenom), Janne has steadily advanced his career by taking on diverse and challenging roles. Before joining Logent, he worked for over 20 years at Isku in various positions, from specialist planning to Product Development Manager, most recently overseeing order-to-delivery chains and logistics partnerships. His broad experience and leadership of major internal logistics projects have provided him with valuable skills in project management and holistic logistics development.

– I have been deeply involved in internal logistics changes through investments and process development. In that project, I particularly learned systematic development and change management skills. Throughout my career, I have led multiple teams, which I believe will be a strength in my new role, says Janne Uski.

A Workplace with Values and Energy

Starting a new role can be exciting even for an experienced professional, but Janne immediately felt welcome. Both employees and customers have given him a warm reception.

– During my first week, I visited Logent’s logistics center in Vantaa and met many new colleagues at once. I immediately felt part of the team. I had the same feeling in Lahti – almost like starting at two new workplaces simultaneously.

At Logent, Janne sees great potential and shared values.

– When I got to know Logent better, I realized it is a dynamic and development-oriented company. Employee satisfaction is highly valued, and there is a strong sense of energy and initiative. The values – responsibility, quality, and employee well-being – are familiar to me. When values are relatable, it’s easy to embrace them. This was a key reason why I wanted to join this team, Janne explains.

Customer Collaboration and Employee Engagement as Keys to Success

Janne emphasizes that effective customer collaboration is one of the most important success factors in logistics.

– Outsourcing internal logistics is not just about buying a service; it’s about a true partnership. We need to understand the customer’s business, production processes, and goals deeply to create genuine added value, he explains.

Understanding each customer’s industry and processes is critical, as every business is unique. As the new Site Manager, Janne’s first objective is to take control of new customer operations and ensure service levels.

– Maintaining service levels is essential. It’s important that we ensure the customer’s processes function smoothly. Logent is a vital link in that chain. Our goal is for all our work to be reflected as improved service – whether in terms of time, quality, or cost, Uski emphasizes.

Clear Goals and Engaged Employees

During the first weeks, Janne has focused on learning Logent’s and the customers’ operations and systems. Development projects will begin once core operations are established.

– In the coming month, our goal is to build transparency and clear metrics. I want the team to have a clear understanding of expectations and outcomes, down to the daily level, Uski says.

He values employee engagement highly and plans to hold personal discussions with every team member during the first weeks.

– Working together as a team towards shared goals is central. We are one team moving in the same direction. These discussions help me understand the operations and get to know the staff. I’m sure development ideas will emerge when employees have the opportunity to influence, he adds.

– This is an excellent foundation to build on. There is great potential to develop and create something truly successful, Janne concludes, sharing his positive feelings as he starts his new role.
